One of my traditional Christmas foods, not only because it's delicious, but also because I'm more of a salt lover than a sugar lover, and Christmas treats seem to be all about sugar (not that there's anything wrong with that, it just gets to be too much sometimes)!
I changed up the amounts a little, because my favorite part of Chex mix from the store was always the Chex. Though you can't get Chex around here, so i use Crispex.
Emily's Favorite Snack Mix
8 c. Crispex Cereal
2 c. Pretzel Sticks
1 c. plain Cheerios
1 1/2 c. Bagel chips (plain or garlic flavor)
6 tbsp. Margerine
2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1½ tsp. Seasoned Salt
¾ tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. onion powder
Mix first four ingredients in a large roasting pan.
Melt remaining ingredients together and pour over cereal mix. Put the lid on the pan and shake gently to coat evenly.
Bake uncovered at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. (i put the roaster lid on and shake gently, then take the lid off before returning to the oven)
Spread on paper towels to cool.
